چکیده

To meet the increasing demands of growing population and to cope with challenges global change, both production biological feedstock recovery recyclable natural resources play a critical role. Microalgal biomass is promising source renewable multifunctional feedstock, but costly requires large amounts water. Here, we explored potential using wastewater as culture medium lower economic environmental costs microalgae evaluated its valorization opportunities for animal feed production. As proof principle, show that Chlorella sorokiniana can be cultivated on poultry wastewater, 83 113% increase in productivity when was first 50% diluted tap water or standard growth medium, respectively. Wastewater sterilization before use enhanced algal 36–118%, only 25–50% medium. In contrast, it offered no additional benefits dilutions were made not diluted. At end 22-days experiment, maximum 0.8–1.9 g L −1 reached algae grown wastewater. The produced had high macronutrient content, heavy metal content below limits feed. Likewise, tested pathogen groups reduced until safety norms after unsterilized (diluted water). Overall, these findings add our knowledge cultivation opportunities, paving way more sustainable reuse resources.

Screening microalgae isolated from urban storm- and wastewater systems as feedstock for biofuel

Exploiting microalgae as feedstock for biofuel production is a growing field of research and application, but there remain challenges related to industrial viability and economic sustainability. A solution to the water requirements of industrial-scale production is the use of wastewater as a growth medium. Considering the variable quality and contaminant loads of wastewater, algal feedstock wou...

Waste Paper - Promissing Feedstock for Bioethanol Production

Modern approach to utilization of non-edible biomass is its conversion to glucose, and the following fermentation of the sugar into final bioproducts. Among various biomass types, the waste of office paper is distinguished by increased content of cellulose and negligible content of lignin; therefore it can be a suitable feedstock for bioconversion into valuable bioproduct, e.g. ethanol. An adva...
